Anniversary of 9/11
Yes it's that time of year again, what were your memories?

I was living in Minnesota and after switching on the TV just after the first plane hit and thinking it was some light aircraft had crashed into it. Then about an hour later, I saw live the second one and was thinking what the fuck is going on, obviously it became clear that these were no accidents.

Who has the "honour" to be the first on WHO to claim it was the US that was behind it?

Ron_antly? Or some other beacon of sanity?

I was glued to WHO as it all unfolded. The thread read like a disaster novel.

I was working at Associated New Media (Mail Online, Thisismoney etc.) at the time and we had tv screens up all over the office.
Remember it cutting over to the smoking first tower and I didn't much of it. A couple of weeks before some twat had got his paraglider entangled in the statue of Liberty and thought it was womething similar.
The moment the second plane smashed into the other tower it was obvious it wasn't. There was a moment of disbelief while what I had just seen on live TV sunk in.
The rest of the day was fire-fighting to keep our data centres up and we did.

I went up the WTC to that windows bar, restaurant.

You could put your head against the window, look down and see the whole thing fucking swaying...surreal.

Didn't stay up there too long as the whole lot was shifting about.

Late 90's

I was on my way to see Reading v West Ham which, incidentally we played miserably and lost (No fucking change there then), and then redeemed the whole experience by spending the night with this cute police physiotherapist.

Apparently it was all kicking off in NYC.

The 9/11 museum in NYC is extremely well done.

The question is, is there anyone who has been there that didn't take at least one photo of the largely squashed fire engine?

Anyone?

Because there was nothing 'twatish' about posting face palms is there?
And twat is a northern monkey word. You'll be coming out with Americanisms next.

Have to admit some are long in the tooth. This is true.

But I was upset as I lost a few people I worked with at Aon. Not just from the City strangely enough their Romford Office.

More Brits died in 9/11 than any other terrorist attack I believe. So lest we forget.
